Tolstoy in Khamovniki in Moscow announced the program of the fifth international theater festival “Tolstoy”, which will be held from June 24 to 27 at the Yasnaya Polyana museum.
According to the press service of the festival, more than twenty performances of different formats were included in its program: from traditional drama to choreography and Site Specific productions. Several projects were created specifically for the festival by leading directors and playwrights of Russia. This year, the head of the festival was the great -great -great -great -grandson of the writer Ekaterina Tolstaya. The festival program director is a famous theater critic, assistant rector for special projects of the Moscow Art Theater School Pavel Rudnev.
The festival will take part theaters of ten Russian regions. For the first time, festival events will not be limited to the Tula region and will be held in different cities of Russia - Perm, Ufa and Khabarovsk.
Among the special projects of 2021, the work of the leaders of the modern theater Dmitry Volkostroelov and Viktor Ryzhakov, Elena Nenasheva and famous playwrights Yaroslava Pulinovich and Svetlana Bazhenova.
On the opening day of the Vl. Mayakovsky (Moscow) will present the play “Russian Roman” Mindaugas Karbauskis.
The performances will be shown in the space of the estate of Leo Tolstoy in the open air.
The POST Theater project “War and Peace with its Steps” proposes to carry out bodily interaction with Tolstoy’s novel, literally physically feeling its duration. Spectators will take a walk along the pages of the novel, so if all the print lines of the first edition were one line. The route specially thought out by the creators leads off the beaten paths of the estate and offers to focus on the text, on the diverse nature of the reserve, on itself.
SPEITSIFIC SPECIPARY Elena Nenasheva “The Power of the Word”, created in partnership with Rostec, will unfold at the company's enterprise-one of the oldest Russian plants of the Octawa Electric Acoustic Equipment.
Tickets will go on sale on the website of the Tolstoy festival on June 1 .
The festival was organized at the initiative of the Governor of the Tula region Alexei Dyumin with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Rostec State Corporation. This year, for the first time, the festival takes place under the auspices of the UNESCO Commission of the Russian Federation
