The Prosecutor General's Office recognized three non-profit organizations from Germany as “undesirable”

The Prosecutor General's Office recognized three German non-profit organizations as "undesirable" in Russia: the Forum of Russian-Speaking Europeans, the Center for Liberal Modernity, and the German-Russian Exchange. This is stated in the telegram channel of the department.

The activities of these NGOs, according to the Prosecutor General's Office, pose a "threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation." The department's decision was submitted to the Ministry of Justice, which should put the organizations on the list of "undesirable".

"Mediazona" drew attention to the fact that all three NGOs are associated with educational activities. Thus, the "German-Russian Exchange" is engaged in the development of international exchanges and volunteering, supporting civil initiatives and organizations. On its basis, the "German-Russian Exchange in St. Petersburg" was founded, which conducted exchanges for students from Russia and European countries. In Russia, they organized events with the Human Rights Center "Memorial", which is included in the list of "foreign agents".

Participants of the Forum of Russian-Speaking Europeans spoke out against political persecution in Russia, as well as criticized European pro-Kremlin politicians and also collaborated with Memorial Human Rights Center.

The Center for Liberal Modernity bills itself as "an independent think tank, discussion forum, and project organizing group." In their work, they paid attention to climate change , the fight against racism, and the problems of the Middle East settlement. In Russia, as noted by the publication, events were held with the Sakharov Center, which is also included in the list of “foreign agents”.
