Russia will give permission for the arrival of flights of European carriers on alternative routes overflying Belarus, learned RBC . The Federal Air Transport Agency held a meeting on this issue.

A source close to the Ministry of Transport said that in the near future Moscow will allow European airlines to fly around the neighboring republic when flying to Russia. According to the interlocutor of RBC, the country's current refusals to give permission to follow an alternative corridor is due to the fact that the authorities "needed to work out updated routes for airliners."

The publication writes that the issue of allowing European carriers to change the route of flights to Russia was discussed today at a meeting in the Federal Air Transport Agency.

For two days already, several flights of European airlines have been unable to fly through Russian airspace. As Austrian Airlines said today, the company canceled a flight from Vienna to Moscow, because Russia did not agree on a new route bypassing Belarus, which the flight was supposed to fly in connection with the recommendation of the EU authorities. The day before, on May 26, could not the French AirFrance with confidence get permission for the changed route. Three sources from The Bell in the aviation market say that the lack of agreement on permits is a political decision. They do not believe in the version with bureaucratic complexities - the coordination of a new route under normal conditions is never delayed for a day, one of them says.
