
The former head coach of the St. Petersburg football club Zenit Luciano Spalletti took a similar post in the Italian Napoli.
“I am glad to announce that from July 1, the new head coach Napoli will be Luciano Spalletti. Welcome, Luciano. Together we will do an excellent job,” the President of the club Aurelio de Laurentis promised.
The previous place of work of the 62-year-old Italian specialist was Inter, from which he left in May 2019. In Napoli, he replaced Jennaro Gattuzo, at the end of the season of Fiorentina.
Last season, the Neapolitans took fifth place in the standings of the series A and did not fall into the Champions League. The team will play at the group stage of the Europa League season-2021/22.
Spalletti also trained the Italian clubs "Roma", "Udineza", "Ancona", "Venice", "Sampdoria" and "Empoli". The only foreign experience for him was the St. Petersburg Zenit, which Luciano steamed from 2009 to 2014.
