The Investigative Committee opened criminal cases against Russians and Ukrainians due to photographs of Nazis on the Immortal Regiment website

The Investigative Committee opened criminal cases for the rehabilitation of Nazism (Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code) against two Russians and two Ukrainians because of photographs of Nazis on the Immortal Regiment website. This is reported on the department's website.

“Among the defendants in criminal cases are residents of the Orenburg region Andrei Akimov, Sergei Sakharov from the Tomsk region, as well as residents of Ukraine Dmitry Alekseenko and Mikhail Pukh,” the press service of the Investigative Committee said.

According to investigators, in May 2021, the men published applications on the Immortal Regiment website with photographs of “Hitler, Goebbels, traitor to the Motherland Vlasov.” Investigators considered this “an endorsement of the crimes of the Nazi regime.”
