A picketer who came out with a poster in support of Sofia Sapega was detained in Moscow

Picketer Yana Antonova was detained in Moscow, who went out with a picket in support of the Russian woman Sofya Sapega, detained in Belarus, to the Russian Foreign Ministry. Antonova's husband informed OVD-Info about the detention.

On the girl's poster was written "Freedom for Sofia Sapieha." Now the detainee is being taken to Police Department No. 3 on the Moscow Metro.

17:00 The detainee was released from the department with an obligation to appear for drawing up a protocol on June 3, lawyer Salamov reports.

• On May 23, the plane on which Belarusian journalist and former editor-in-chief of the NEXTA telegram channel Roman Protasevich flew to Vilnius made an emergency landing in Minsk at the request of the Belarusian authorities; together with Protasevich, they detained his girlfriend, Russian Sofya Sapega. Criminal cases were opened against both of them, allegedly for organizing mass riots. The international community imposes various sanctions against Belarus. Sophia Sapega is now in the Minsk pre-trial detention center.
