Yandex.Taxi will launch a rental service for electric scooters in St. Petersburg in 2021

Yandex.Taxi in the summer of 2021 will launch a service of renting electric scooters in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Kazan. This was reported by Kommersant with reference to sources in the Kiksherring market.

According to Kommersant, several sources reported plans to organize a rental service for electric scooters. According to them, the company is going to place from 4 to 8 thousand scooters of the Ninebot brand (belongs to the Chinese Xiaomi) in Moscow, as well as launch a project in St. Petersburg and Kazan.

According to the publication, the possibility of renting scooters will appear in the Yandex.Drive and Yandex.go applications. The user will be able to build routes on which it will be possible to book a taxi, a car sharing car and an electric steamer, which will allow part of the path to make a scooter if there is a risk of falling into the traffic jam.

Earlier in St. Petersburg, new restrictions were introduced for electric scooters: speed limit in the center, a ban on parking on the palace and the general “black list” of violators.
