A woman from Ekaterinburg crashed her electric scooter into a taxi and broke her leg; a report was drawn up against her for driving without a license

In Yekaterinburg, traffic police officers drew up two reports against a 20-year-old girl about riding an electric scooter without a license and riding on the sidewalk (Part 1 of Article 12.7, Part 2 of Article 12.15 of the Administrative Code). This is stated on the website of the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On the night of May 30, she was riding along the sidewalk on Moskovskaya Street on an electric scooter with a seat and crashed into the right side of a taxi leaving the yard. The girl fell and injured her leg; in the hospital she was diagnosed with a broken ankle.

The girl said that she was driving in first gear at a speed of 15 km/h. Since the maximum power of the scooter's engine was more than 250 W, the police decided that the electric scooter was a vehicle.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Yekaterinburg added that over the past three days, traffic police officers also drew up protocols for 15 scooter drivers about driving on the roadway.
