The Federal Bailiff Service opened cases against Yulia Shestun and her father Nikolai Alekseev under the article on illegal actions in relation to property subject to inventory or seizure or subject to confiscation (Part 1 of Article 312 of the Criminal Code). Shestun herself told Mediazona about this.
According to Yulia Shestun, we are talking about cars whose owners were listed as her and her father. After the decision of the Krasnogorsk court of the Moscow region in 2019, the cars were seized as the property of the former head of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, Alexander Shestun.
The politician’s wife considers the case illegal: “The cars were seized by decision of the Russian Investigative Committee back in 2018, the keys and documents were confiscated from us and the cars in question were not entrusted to us. The emergence of this criminal case is a continuation of the political persecution of illegally convicted political prisoner Alexander Shestun.”
At the end of December 2020, the Podolsk City Court of the Moscow Region sentenced Alexander Shestun to 15 years in a maximum security colony in cases of fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code), bribery (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code) and illegal participation in business activities (Article 289 of the Criminal Code).
The politician himself denies his guilt and connects the criminal cases with his reluctance to leave the post of head of the district. According to Shestun , the head of the “K” department of the FSB, Ivan Tkachev, threatened to “run over [him] with a roller” if he did not resign.
