Microsoft will unveil the next generation of Windows on June 24

Microsoft has sent journalists an invitation to the presentation of a new version of the Windows operating system, reports The Verge. The event is scheduled for 18:00 Moscow time on June 24.

A week before the invitation was sent out, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced "the next generation of Windows." The new version of the operating system, according to Nadella, will be one of the most significant updates in the last ten years.

Bloomberg writes that first the new version of Windows will be distributed among test participants, and it will become available to the general public in the fall of 2021.

• Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 10, was released in July 2015. In January 2018, Windows 10 became the company's most popular operating system, surpassing Windows 7.
