Megaphone opened the test zones where 4G and 5G communications operate. One of them is located in the area of ​​Nevsky Prospekt, and the other in the Expoforum congress and exhibition center. Technology is available to all subscribers with supporting devices.

The maximum possible speed of mobile Internet in the new range is up to 4.1 Gb/s, and in existing ones - up to 1 Gbit/s.

Thus, the company tests the technology of the dynamic spectrum distribution (DSS), which will allow taking into account the gradual replacement of mobile devices in addition to the main use of frequencies involved in the networks of previous generations.

“We will launch 5G in the target range and gradually using DSS technology will be able to use the potential of low frequency ranges of 2600, 2100, 1800 MHz to improve the quality of service and implementation of 5G functionality,” said Gevorka Director General of Megaphone.
