Pivovarov was sent to a pre-trial detention center until July 31. The defense has already stated that it intends to appeal the court's decision. This is the real reason for initiating the case - an attempt to prevent access to the elections, ”he said.

To detain Pivovarov, law enforcement officers deployed a plane on the runway in which the politician was going to fly.

• At the same time, the Kremlin denies any political component of the criminal case against the ex-director of Open Russia. “Some of the accusations that we read, which are put forward by law enforcement agencies, they have nothing to do with politics,” Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said today.
