A court in St. Petersburg dropped a criminal case against a translator who distorted the text in the documents of a murder case

The Krasnogvardeysky District Court of St. Petersburg dismissed the criminal case against court interpreter Gulbahor Davletova, accused of knowingly incorrect translation of the trial (Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

The translator was given a court fine of six thousand rubles, as specified in the press release.

According to investigators, Davletova was a translator from Uzbek into Russian during the trial of Rasulbek Ibragimov, convicted of murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code) in 2019. The accused distorted the opening and parting words of the presiding officer, as well as the transcripts of court hearings, in order to “create the appearance of a completed order, in order to preserve her professional reputation.” She later handed over the incorrectly translated documents to the Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg.

Davletova admitted her guilt and repented. The court took into account this fact, as well as the fact that the woman was brought to criminal responsibility for the first time, was employed, provides for her family and donated money to charity, the report said.
