The Kuibyshevsky District Court in St. Petersburg fined Russian Socialist Movement (RSM) activist Irina Kozlova 20,000 rubles for picketing in support of LGBTQ activist Yulia Tsvetkova, who is accused of distributing pornography. This is reported by the coordinator of legal assistance OVD-Info Lidia Golovina.
Kozlova was found guilty under the article on violation of the rules for organizing a public event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Alexei Kalugin, a lawyer from OVD-Info, defended her.
The activist was detained on May 27. The police left her in the department for the night before the trial, but the hearing was postponed from May 28 to June 3.
On October 7, the St. Petersburg City Court overturned the fine and sent the case back for a new trial. Alexey Kalugin, a lawyer from OVD-Info, told about this.
