In St. Petersburg, the court dismissed the case of a participant in the Municipal Russia forum

Court district No. 43 in St. Petersburg dismissed the case of Irina Mayorova, a participant in the Municipal Russia forum, due to the lack of corpus delicti. This was reported by a lawyer from OVD-Info, Nikita Sorokin, who represented the interests of the detainee in court.

Police detained Mayorova in Moscow on March 13 at the Municipal Russia forum organized by the United Democrats project. That day, the police came to the event . According to OVD-Info, law enforcement officers detained more than 190 people at the forum, we published lists of detainees. Mayorova, as well as the other participants of the forum, were charged with a protocol under the article on the activities of an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

At the fourth court session in this case, it was possible to achieve its termination due to errors in the case materials, including the protocol, which was drawn up without Mayorova.

The list includes UK-registered OR Otkrytaya Rossia, Open Russia Civic Movement, Open Russia and Institute of Modern Russia, Inc, registered in the USA. The Russian authorities believe that the Open Russia movement is related to these legal entities, and therefore is also an undesirable organization on the territory of the Russian Federation.
• Due to the announcement of the event by the Open Russia coordinator, the security forces considered that it was being organized by an “undesirable” organization, so protocols were drawn up against all participants precisely under the relevant article (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). At the same time, the Open Russia movement itself is not an "undesirable organization."
