In the Astrakhan region, police officers conducted a second search in the house of believer Anna Safronova and her mother. The website “Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia” reports this.

During the search, the believer’s electronic devices were confiscated again and then placed in a local temporary detention center.

Safronova was charged with participating in the activities of a religious organization recognized as extremist on the territory of Russia (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code) and raising funds or financing an extremist organization (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code). On June 2, she was given a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.

In June 2020, in Astrakhan, an investigator opened a criminal case against Sergei Klikunov, Rustam Diarov, Evgeniy and Olga Ivanov. Later, a series of searches took place at local Jehovah's Witnesses, after which four believers were placed in custody.
On April 20, 2017, the Supreme Court recognized the “Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” as an extremist organization, liquidated it and banned its activities in Russia.
