In Yekaterinburg, a lawyer was fined 30 thousand rubles for a hashtag on a social network

The Kirovsky District Court fined lawyer Artur Khaziev in the amount of 30,000 rubles. He was charged with an article on disrespect for the authorities (part 3 of article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). It is reported by Znak.

According to Khaziev, he was detained during a hearing on the case of activist Sergei Zykov in the Verkh-Isetsky court. The publication reports that the detention took place a month ago - apparently, we are talking about one of the meetings on May 6: at one of them, Zykov was assigned 30 hours of compulsory work for participating in a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23, at the other - 35 hours for a similar action January 31st. Khaziev was to act as a witness at both hearings. After that, the human rights activist was taken to the police department and a protocol on an administrative offense was drawn up.

It all started with the fact that Artur Khaziev posted a hashtag on his Facebook page, in which he described the trial as inadequate. This is what prompted the case. At the moment, this publication could not be found.

The human rights activist says he intends to appeal against the court's decision.

• Earlier, the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg found PMC member Darya Belyaeva and activist Sergei Tiunov guilty of insulting judges (part 3 of article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of Facebook posts. They were fined 30 and 45 thousand rubles, respectively.
