The defendant in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case was placed in a punishment cell in the colony. He complains of pain in the heart area

On June 2, Anas Gimazetdinov, convicted in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case in Tatarstan, was placed in a punishment cell for five days. This was reported to OVD-Info by his friend.

Anas Gimazetdinov is in correctional colony No. 26 in the Samara region. He is registered as a hypertensive patient. At the moment, Gimazetdinov is ill: he complains of pain in the heart area, cough, sore throat, stuffy nose and weakness. On May 31, he was prescribed pills, but they can't do a cardiogram: the doctor is on vacation.

“He is already sick again, probably the infection is going around. They get infected from each other. Many of his squad are sick with SARS. It's probably covid. But no one takes tests from convicts and does not test for covid. None of the administration of the colony cares, or they simply do not have the funds, personnel and desire to do this, so they simply turn a blind eye to it. They get sick and get sick, ”added a friend of Gimazetdinov.

FSIN officers have placed Anas Gimazetdinov in ShIZO for various reasons since he was sent to the colony in 2019.

And the reasons for this may be an incorrectly buttoned button, an unmade bed, untidiness in clothes, an incorrect greeting to an employee of the correctional colony. Therefore, if employees want to put pressure on a person, then they have an almost unlimited set of tools to keep a person in a punishment cell all the time. On appeal, this period was reduced to 17 years and 9 months. He was not charged with preparing any terrorist attack, but was accused of holding meetings with reading Hizb ut-Tahrir literature, discussing it, and recruiting supporters. Gimazetdinova was arrested at the end of October 2017 after searches during which FSB officers confiscated religious literature.
