Rosneft filed a lawsuit against JSC AS RUS MEDIA, publisher of Forbes magazine. Journalist Dmitry Yakovenko is also listed as a defendant, as follows from the case file on the Arbitration Court website.
The reason for the lawsuit is still unknown. As Dozhd notes , in April Yakovenko published an article that spoke about the connections of financier Sergei Sudarikov with Rosneft. Supposedly, this helped him get onto the Forbes list of billionaires.
Previously, Rosneft filed lawsuits against Sobesednik , Important Stories, Novaya Gazeta , Dozhd , Bloomberg and Ekho Moskvy .
in the lawsuit against Bloomberg Correspondents Anna Andrianova and Evgenia Pismennaya are listed as co-defendants . In March, they published a note that the authorities this year may spend part of the national wealth fund on investments in Vostok Oil. Dozhd and Ekho Moskvy also wrote about this, citing Bloomberg .
The state corporation demanded that “Important Stories” remove the investigation into Rosneft’s purchase of Pirelli shares in 2014. The reason for the lawsuit against Novaya Gazeta was an article by Maxim Averbukh, in which the journalist examined the statement of the head of the state corporation, Igor Sechin, at a meeting with Putin that his company was the only one to make a profit in 2020.
