The Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined Maria Kustova, editor-in-chief of Gazeta.SPb, under the article on non-compliance with the law on foreign agents by the media (part 2.1 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported by the press service of the courts of the city.
A fine of 4,000 rubles was imposed because of the mention of the Alliance of Doctors trade union in an article titled “The organizers of six underground casinos were detained in St. Petersburg.” At the moment, information about the trade union has been removed from the publication.
During the trial, Kustova pleaded guilty and clarified that the Alliance of Doctors itself was not the subject of the article, but was only mentioned. Kustova called the lack of marking "foreign agent" a mistake.
