The dollar exchange rate at Mosbirzh on June 9 fell below 72 rubles. This happened for the first time since July 28 last year.
According to data at 10:43, at the peak of reduction, the dollar fell by 38 kopecks - up to 71.98 rubles. The euro amounted to 87.82 rubles - fell by 21 kopecks.
The Promsvyazbank explained that the ruble is strengthened by increasing oil prices. RBC with reference to the report of the bank analysts writes that inflation in the Russian Federation for May turned out to be higher than forecasts.
“This contributed to the strengthening of the expectations of raising the key rate of the Central Bank this Friday to immediately 5.5%,” the document says.
The bank added that the increase in the profitability of ruble assets played a positive role for the national currency.
