Politician Dmitry Gudkov's aunt, Irina Ermilova, was charged in a case of causing damage to the Moscow Property Department. The politician announced this on his Telegram channel.
According to Gudkov, the charge was reclassified - if earlier the case was considered under the article on causing particularly large damage by deceit or breach of trust (165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 2, paragraph "b"), now a clause has been added to the charge stating that the crime was committed by an organized group (165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 2, paragraph "a").
“This means that she is not the only hostage, but any person whose fate they want to blackmail me,” Gudkov expressed his opinion.
The maximum penalty under the article on causing particularly large damage by an organized group is five years in prison.
This is no longer the business of Dmitry Gudkov and his aunt. This is a threat to everyone, a direct blow to the legal system of the entire country. Because before it was impossible - but now it will be possible.
