The Ministry of Labor proposed to pay maternity capital to single fathers

The Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft law providing for the payment of maternity capital to single fathers. This was reported by the press service of the department.

The certificate for payments, in accordance with the proposal of the ministry, will be available to men who are single-handedly raising a second, third or subsequent children born after January 1, 2007.

• Maternity capital has been issued in Russia since 2007 - families in which a second child was born or adopted have the right to it. From January 1, 2020, maternity capital is also issued at the birth of the first child.
• In 2021, the amount of maternity capital is 483.8 thousand rubles for the first child and 639.4 thousand for the second and subsequent children.
