Minister for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information of Chechnya Akhmed Dudayev called human rights activists provocateurs who reported the kidnapping of Chechen Khalimat Taramova from a crisis apartment for victims of domestic violence in Makhachkala. He stated this on the air of the Grozny ChGTRK.
“Thanks to the well-coordinated and professional actions of law enforcement officers, an attempt to kidnap a person was stopped. It's the kidnapping. We are talking about Khalimat Taramova. About a girl who has health problems, who over the past few years has been regularly treated in our clinics, whom our leading doctors have provided medical services to. <…> But even this fact does not stop the provocateurs, the so-called “fifth column” in Russia, in an attempt to achieve some of their vile goals, ”he said, adding that the girl has mental problems, and her rights and her rights families were violated.
Dudayev stressed that "there were no illegal actions" on the part of the security forces or relatives of Khalimat Taramova. According to him, the girl’s father, within the framework of the law, applied to the police department about the disappearance of his daughter, after which her place was established, the girl was “invited to the police department”, interrogated, and then the father, together with the girl, “returned safely home.”
On June 10, police officers from Dagestan and Chechnya broke into a crisis apartment in Makhachkala looking for a Chechen girl, Khalimat Taramova. According to some reports, Khalimat is the daughter of the Deputy Minister of Housing and Utilities of Chechnya, Ayub Taramov. The girl ran away from home after being beaten and threatened because of her sexual orientation. She wanted to leave for a safe place with her friend Anna Manylova from Perm and turned to the Russian LGBT Network for help.
As a result, the security forces abducted and forcibly took Khalimat to Chechnya, and Manylova was dropped off on the way to Grozny, after which she flew to St. Petersburg. Among those detained during the raid was also a minor girl - the daughter of Smirnova. Lawyers filed applications for the kidnapping of Khalimat in Chechnya.
