Jerusalem cried and sprinkled his head with ash, sending the opposition to the opposition’s bench that was still influential and dangerous for political opponents of the Chairman of the Likud party, Benjamin Netanyahu.
A mass prayer convened by rabans was held at the wall of crying against the formation of a new government. Then dozens of supporters of the outgoing prime minister came to the building of the head of the government on Balfur Street in Jerusalem to support him. But only his educated youngest son, Avner, came to them.
The prime minister (according to rotation) Naftali Bennett called up the Israelites not to hold any festive events on the occasion of Netanyahu's departure. But the protest movements, for over more than a year, arranged rallies with the demand for his resignation every week, no longer stopped. It was their holiday.
On the central square of Rabin in Tel Aviv, where political rallies are traditionally held, they erected a scene and set the speakers. Someone brought a foam for parties here. Here was a festive concert that gathered thousands of people.
The way they reacted to the same event in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv showed a deep split in society, the line of demarcation in which in recent years is taking place on the attitude to Netanyahu. Some pronounce his name with aspiration and list his merits, others sharply criticize him for incitement and discord. The latter counted how many days he led the country - 4456.
Political commentators have long been indicated by Benjamin Netanyahu with former US President Donald Trump. The Israeli prime minister does not know how to lose.
Netanyahu also sincerely assures his supporters that the “left” conspiracy, the media, and so on the “deep state” will weave against him.
Therefore, there were assumptions that excesses could occur during the transfer of power. As a result, the capture of the Knesset supporters of the Chairman of the Likud party looked different - as a “dark” prime minister.
The appointed Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett only went to the microphone to make a speech at the plenary meeting of the Israeli parliament, where the new government was supposed to be approved. Before he had time to open his mouth, the political allies of Netanyahu attacked him with screams and insults. They called him a fraud, a liar and a thief, literally preventing him from pronouncing a single phrase.
Multiplying interrupted, Bennett tried to show the generosity of the winner, thanking the departing prime minister for everything that he did for the state. They shouted in response: "You hit him with a knife in the back!"
From the side, the spectacle rather resembled the attack of a group of hooligans in the courtyard. Obviously, this was only a rehearsal of the uncompromising struggle that Netanyahu and his supporters would wage with Bennet and his allies.
Benjamin Netanyahu chose the tactics of aggressive delegation of his political opponents who removed him from power. Now, in any case, he accuses them of lies, fraud and political weakness.
“You do not have any authority in the international arena, you have no confidence, you will not be able to respond with a firm refusal to the US President when it begins to demand too much Israel - for example, creating a Palestinian state,” said Netanyahu on his speech the day before. - As soon as an agreement is concluded with Iran, Israel will lose the right to carry out secret operations on its territory. Know that in Tehran they are now happy about the formation of a weak Israeli government. ”
Another time, Netanyahu repeated: this is a government built on hatred, discord and thirst for power, it will not last long.
Of course, members of the new “government of changes” categorically disagree with such an assessment. Most of them have far from newcomers in politics, many were ministers, worked both in the coalition and in the opposition. Now they will have to try much more to show what they are capable of.
Paradoxically, it is the active and rigid opposition of the head of the opposition Benjamin Netanyahu that will contribute to the rallying of a motley coalition.
It will become a glue that holds together this mixture from left, centrist, right and even - for the first time in the history of Israel - one Arab party.
All of them went to serious compromises and high risk. They have already paid the electoral price for the formation of this coalition and replacing the Netanyahu government. Too imminent elections are fraught for many members of the “Government of Changes” by political non -existence.
Therefore, they have nowhere to retreat. This is a battle to the last drop of political blood, to the last cartridge. And now they need to quickly prove their effectiveness in order to gain the confidence of the voter.

For this reason, the new government will primarily actively deal with internal issues - the economy, the Socialist. It is necessary to accept the state budget (the country still lives according to the budget of 2019), to conduct a number of stuck appointments of high -ranking officials, to approve the reform prepared in the ministries.
As for foreign policy, the head of the new government Naphtili Bennett and his partner-the replaced Prime Minister Yair Lapid-listed their foreign policy priorities:
Iranian threat,
Relations with the United States and American Jews,
with the European Union,
moderate Arab regimes and Palestinian autonomy.
Lapid made a reservation that he did not mention China and Russia in this list. According to him, relations with these countries will also be built properly. And here the new government of Israel will have to try very hard.
One of the important achievements of Benjamin Netanyahu was to build a trusting relationship with Vladimir Putin,
What gave Israel a certain freedom of action in Syria against the Iranian military. To preserve and consolidate this success, Bennet and Lapida should find his approach to the Russian president.
The Kremlin has already trusted in the new government of Israel - Putin sent a congratulation on Bennet on an entry off. “Russian-Israeli relations are traditionally friendly. I expect that your activity at the head of the government will contribute to the further development of constructive bilateral cooperation in all directions. This, undoubtedly, meets the indigenous interests of our peoples, is in line with the strengthening of peace, security and stability in the Middle East, ”the Russian president says.
The first serious test of the strength of the new Israeli government will begin on June 15. In Jerusalem there will be a march with flags. This event is traditionally held as part of the celebration of Jerusalem's Day - the march participants pass along the Jerusalem streets and through the Shkham gates of the Old City and its Muslim quarter go to the Wailing Wall.
This year, the march was carried out on May 10, but was actually torn by missile shelling from the gas sector. Upon completion of the Operation “Wall Guards”, right -wing activists demanded that it be held again to symbolically show the Palestinian groups to whom Jerusalem owns. But in Gaza they bit a bit and threaten to resume the missile shelling of Israel in the event of a similar event.
The issue was discussed last week at a meeting of the narrow military-political cabinet. The heads of power structures, including the police, tried to dissuade Netanyahu from the march in such a tense period. As a result, the political leadership allowed the procession - the truth, subject to close coordination of actions with the police.
The new government does not intend to cancel the march with flags.
“Yes, now a difficult period after surgery in gas,” said Beni Ganz Minister of Defense. - We do not have time to swing. Enemies are not going to wait for us or regret us. Probably, they will soon try to test us for strength again, counting on our weakness during the transfer of power. In this regard, I want to emphasize that the security of the state of Israel has never depended and will never depend on one person. We have a wonderful professional security system that copes with any threats perfectly. ”
