The Ministry of Justice refused to exclude the Samara publication Park Gagarin from the register of "foreign agents" because of a subsidy from the Union of Journalists of Russia. this on his Telegram channel . reports Pavel Chikov, head of the Agora human rights group,
Gagarin Park has filed an application to withdraw from the list of foreign agents. After checking, the Ministry of Justice found that in 2020 the publication received a subsidy from the Union of Journalists of Russia.
Chikov stressed that in 2019 the union received money from abroad, so its subsidies are considered foreign funding.
The Ministry expressed the same claims about the funds that Gagarin Park received from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togliatti - the publication concluded a contract with the organization to cover its activities.
“The Ministry of Justice has no claims either to the Union of Journalists or to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry because of foreign receipts,” said the head of Agora.
