A court in Arkhangelsk found local resident Ruslan Akhmetshin guilty under the article on inciting hatred or enmity (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a comment on VKontakte. It is reported by MBH Media with reference to lawyer Oksana Vladyka.
Akhmetshin was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest.
“In September 2020, after the gubernatorial elections, when Tsybulsky, a representative of United Russia, was elected, there were certain comments on Ruslan Akhmetshin’s page criticizing voters who did not come to the polls. Turnout was 30%. He wrote that it was a shame. Emotional comments on the results of the elections were allowed on Ruslan's page.
Today we did not expect this, of course. Three times the prosecutor's office issued a decision to initiate an administrative case, three times they provided some kind of expert opinion, which does not withstand any criticism. And here is the arrest for comments in which there is no obscene language, there are no calls to kill or something else. This is just an emotional statement - he compared part of the electorate with representatives of the animal world, ”Akhmetshin’s defender quotes the publication.
