The court extended the house arrest of Crimean Solidarity journalist Amet Suleymanov

The judge of the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don extended the preventive measure for civilian journalist Amet Suleimanov for 2 months. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

Amet Suleymanov is under house arrest in the case of the third Bakhchisarai group Hizb ut-Tahrir. He is charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).

Judging by the materials of the case referred to by Krymskaya Solidarity, the accused did not have weapons, did not plan to carry out a terrorist act, and did not call for violent actions. Investigative materials contain audio recordings of conversations on religious and political topics in the mosques of Bakhchisaray.

Amet Suleymanov needs regular medical care. He annually underwent a course of therapy and treatment in the hospital of Simferopol in the department of rheumatology.

• Seitumer Seytumerov, Osman Seytumerov and Rustem Seitmemetov were detained after searches in Crimea on March 11. Later, they were placed in custody , and Amet Suleymanov, who was detained along with them in the same case, was placed under house arrest. The investigation considers all four of them to be participants in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), the full namesake of one of them, Seitumer Seytumerov, who is on the wanted list, is the organizer (part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
• The Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir has been recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In various regions of Russia, as well as in the Crimea, alleged members of the party are being prosecuted for the activities of a terrorist organization. The accused are sentenced to various lengthy terms solely on the grounds that they held meetings and read religious literature. On the territory of Ukraine, the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir are allowed.
