Australian researchers began clinical trials of a new type of vaccine against Covid-19-it will be introduced using a nasal spray. Specialists of the Brisbensky company Nucleus Network suggest that their vaccine will become more effective than Astrazeneca and Pfizer preparations.
An article published on the Voice of America website is devoted to the new development of Australian scientists.
Dr. Paul Griffin, medical director of Nucleus Network, who began the vaccine test, says that the Australian drug should reduce the risk of infection.
“The main advantage of the new drug is that it is introduced in the same way that pathogens or virus fall into the body. We hope that this enhances the effectiveness of the vaccine, actually preventing the penetration of the virus into the human body,” Griffin said.
Australian developers of the new vaccine say that it will become accessible to patients in about two years.

This week, the country's public health leadership said that Astrazeneca will be recommended to people aged 60 and older. This is due to the fact that in young people, as practice has shown, there is - albeit in extremely rare cases - the risk of thrombosis.
Australia authorities, with its 25 millionth population, plan to complete the vaccination by the end of 2021. To date, about 30 thousand cases of infection with coronavirus are registered in Australia. More than 900 people became victims of the epidemic.
