“The main advantage of the new drug is that it is introduced in the same way that pathogens or virus fall into the body. We hope that this enhances the effectiveness of the vaccine, actually preventing the penetration of the virus into the human body,” Griffin said.

Australian developers of the new vaccine say that it will become accessible to patients in about two years.

Currently in Australia, two vaccines against the Covid-19-Astrazeneca and Pfizer are approved for use. This week, the country's public health leadership said that Astrazeneca will be recommended to people aged 60 and older.
