On Saturday, Governor of Tokyo Koika said on Saturday that all public visits to the Olympic Summer Games will be canceled due to the pandemic Covid-19. After a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister, Esihide Suga Koika told reporters that the places where views were planned, instead, will be used as vaccination. This is informed by the Japanese English -language newspaper The Japan Times.
The Japanese government has recently become an object of acute public criticism for playing games. The authorities of Japan are not yet able to completely take control of cases of coronavirus infection.
The publication, in particular, cites the opinion of Japanese experts in the field of virology, who stated that the most reliable way to prevent infection would be to conduct competitions without spectators.
In the upcoming Monday, Governor Koika and Prime Minister Suga should meet with the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee to discuss the permissible number of fans at the competition.
