The Mariinsky Theater for the first time in six years gave the status of a prima-ballerina

Olesya Novikova became the new prima-ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater. This was reported by the press service of the theater.

The appointment of Novikova Prima-Balerina was told by the head of the ballet troupe, Yuri Fateev after the end of the Raimond ballet. The last time the theater gave a similar status six years ago.

Novikova graduated from the Academy of Russian Ballet. A. Ya. Vaganova, after which she got into the troupe of the Mariinsky Theater. There she is already the 19th season and performs the party of the repertoire in Sylphid, Giseli , Sleeping Beauty, Lake Swan, Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and others.
