
Of the about 2 thousand Russian RGS surveyed, 12%* plan to purchase a motorcycle. 27% of Russians surveyed would like to buy a motorcycle, as they like the biker community and they want to become part of it, the bank’s press service said. Another 21% of respondents consider riding a motorcycle a sport that they would like to do. Every fifth (20%) is ready to transfer to motor vehicles because he does not like to stand in traffic jams, and 19% of respondents attract stories as a symbol of youth and freedom.
At the same time, 88% of Russians do not yet consider the possibility of acquiring motorcycles: 40% of respondents believe that this is excess, and 33% do not have a budget. Another 15% believe that riding a bike is scary and risky, 11% do not have an appropriate category in a driver’s license, 9% of the respondents are worried that there is nowhere to put a motorcycle, and 8% of Russians are not allowed to start a motorcycle (parents and spouses).
At the same time, every fifth Russian intends to prevent their relatives to move to a motorcycle, as they consider it too dangerous.
“Only in April 2021, according to the Avtostat analytical agency, Russians acquired 3.9 thousand new and 16.1 thousand motorcycles with mileage, which is 145% and 81% more than a year ago, respectively. Among our customers, we also see an interest in motor vehicles, ”says Marina Dembitskaya, Director of the development of the retail business of the bank. “At the same time, a third of the Russians surveyed do not have a budget for the purchase of motorcycles, so they consider the acquisition of such a vehicle on credit.”
