In Irkutsk, FSIN officers are looking for the ex-chief of Navalny’s headquarters

In Irkutsk, the Federal Penitentiary Service is looking for ex-coordinator of Navalny's headquarters, Sergei Bespalov. He left Russia after being sentenced in a criminal case. It is reported by Siberia.Realii.

An employee of the Federal Penitentiary Service came to the office of the Irkutsk Insider company, the founder of which is Bespalov. She stated that the former head of Navalny's headquarters could be put on the wanted list and arrested in Vilnius.

In February 2021, Sergei Bespalov was found guilty under the article on intentionally causing harm to health of moderate severity (part 1 of article 112 of the Criminal Code). According to the court, Bespalov harmed an activist of the National Liberation Movement (NOD). He was sentenced to a year and eight months of restraint of liberty. The defendant himself repeatedly declared his innocence.

• This is not the first time Sergei Bespalov has faced government persecution. He was detained during the action on January 23, 2021. In 2018, he was arrested for 30 days under an article on repeated violation of the rules for participation in a public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to the action “He is not our king”, which took place on May 5. And in 2017, Bespalov was arrested for seven days for organizing an election meeting between politician Alexei Navalny and the residents of Irkutsk. The meeting took place on a private property.
