Ex-director of FBK arrested in absentia by court

The Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow granted the petition for the detention of the former director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) Ivan Zhdanov, who was put on the international wanted list. Mediazona reports this with reference to lawyer Vladimir Voronin.

Zhdanov is accused of non-payment of 29 million rubles, which, according to the decision of the Arbitration Court in 2019, he was supposed to transfer to the Moscow Schoolchild food factory as compensation. Previously, the company filed a lawsuit against Ivan Zhdanov, Lyubov Sobol and Alexei Navalny over a video about violations at the enterprise’s production.

According to the investigator, the former head of FBK “maliciously did not comply” with the court decision, although he had the opportunity to do so. As a result, the bailiffs opened a criminal case for failure to comply with a court decision that had entered into force (Part 2 of Article 315 of the Criminal Code), and then Ivan Zhdanov was put on the wanted list - first on the federal and then on the international wanted list.

17:53 The press service of the Nagatinsky District Court reported that the arrest was scheduled for a month from the moment of detention. Previously, Zhdanov was given a written undertaking not to leave as a preventive measure. At the moment, the former director of FBK is abroad.
