“The parliament of the 7th convocation worked at the proper level. The results of the work complyed with the requirements that were made by the situation and the country, ”the president said.

By “proper level”, Putin had in mind the work of deputies in the context of the Pandemia of Coronavirus, because of which they, having gone to work, had to risk their life and health.

“It was necessary to continue this work, despite all the difficulties and threats, including life and health. It was necessary to come to the voting room and make decisions in the most important areas of the country's life. It was necessary to assist people. If this had not been done in a timely manner, then the situation would have developed much more complicated. 25% of the composition of the State Duma was ill with coronavirus, four - passed away. He added that Russia, including thanks to the coordinated work of deputies, coped with the Pandemia of Coronavirus better than many other countries of the world (over the past day in Russia confirmed 21,042 new cases of coronavirus infection and recorded a mortality record from Covid - 669 people).

In addition, Putin recalled that in the 90s politicians specially made obviously impossible promises in order to raise their popularity. The United Russia party, in turn, albeit to the detriment of its reputation, makes heavy but necessary decisions, Putin believes. “Our life does not consist of constant holidays and distribution of money. Decisions should be made, as people say, in a clear eye, ”he said, apparently, referring to proposals for financial assistance to citizens during the pandemic.

The head of state also expressed support for United Russia in the upcoming elections to the State Duma. “Due to the fact that I was the author, as they say, the creator of the United Russia party, I support it. I intend to support it during the election campaign. ”
