Police in Moscow have detained an LGBT activist named Artyom, who walked onto Red Square holding a "Stop Homophobia" banner. This was reported to OVD-Info by the detainee himself.
The young man was taken to the police department in the Kitay-gorod district. He is charged with violating the law on rallies, but a specific administrative article has not yet been named.
Sergei Telnov, a lawyer from OVD-Info, went to the department to visit the detained activist.
