The Investigative Department of the SK in the Chelyabinsk region issued a press release on the detention of the defendants in the case under the article on participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). The ZNAK publication clarifies that we are talking about the Hizb Ut-Tahrir Islamic Party.
“According to investigators, in 2021 the suspects took part in the activities of a prohibited terrorist organization, conducted classes to spread its ideology. During the searches, investigators seized a large number of printed materials prohibited for distribution in the Russian Federation, ”said representatives of the UK.
The exact number of detainees is currently unknown.
On July 7, the FSB reported to ITAR-TASS to detain the “four leaders and 11 active participants in the Hizb Ut-Tahrir” in Chelyabinsk, Penza and Ufa.
The anonymous source told the OVD-Info that at least 8 people were detained in Chelyabinsk, and two were released later. Among the detainees Marat Bazarbaev and Vadim Nasrov. They were already persecuted under the “terrorist” article in the Hizb Ut-Tahrir case.
The searches took place with the relatives of Bazarbaev in Emanelinsk (Chelyabinsk region). According to the source, the FSB officers beat family members, including children.
Also, with a search, they came to Amir Gilyazov. In 2019, he was sentenced to 11 years in the colony, but was released from punishment in connection with disabilities.
In Ufa, searches took place on June 22. The security forces detained six people. The next day, the three were detained on charges of organizing and participating in the activities of a terrorist organization (PH. 1 and 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
