In Kazan, two defendants in the “palace case” were charged with another charge - calls for mass riots

In Kazan, two participants in the January protests, Elnar Efimov and Kamilla Khaibullina, were charged with yet another article - on incitement to mass riots (part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code). This was reported to OVD-Info by Bulat Khairullin, a member of the local branch of the Yabloko party.

According to him, Khaibullina wrote in a letter that another article (part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code) was added to the case of incitement to extremism (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). Later, Yefimov's sister confirmed to Khairullin that the same changes had taken place in her brother's case. He is also charged with incitement to extremism (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code).

At the end of February, both activists were sent to a pre-trial detention center. At the same time, Khaibullina was detained at the rally on January 31. Then she was charged with organizing an uncoordinated action (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and interfering with infrastructure (part 6.1 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Subsequently, the court reclassified the accusation for participation in an uncoordinated action (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and fined her 10,000 rubles. OVD-Info has no information about Efimov's detention.

In connection with the actions in support of Alexei Navalny, which took place from January 23 to February 2, at least 90 criminal cases were opened across the country.
The protesters were accused of using violence against the security forces (Article 318 of the Criminal Code), violating sanitary and epidemiological rules (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code), involving minors in illegal activities (Part 2 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code), blocking roads (Art. 267 of the Criminal Code) and other articles.
