Petersburg: FSB detained the Estonian consul

In St. Petersburg, the FSB officers detained the Estonian Consul Martha Lightte for allegedly receiving information of a “closed nature” from a Russian. About this writes "Interfax."

"This activity is not compatible with the status of a diplomatic worker and has a clear hostile nature in relation to the Russian Federation. Measures will be applied to a foreign diplomat in accordance with international law," the agency said .

The Estonian Foreign Ministry reported that Lightte was at a working meeting at the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. "The consul, leaving the meeting, was detained by the FSB for an hour and a half," the Estonian Foreign Ministry quoted the Postimees publication.

“This is another example of the fact that Russia is not interested in constructive relations with the EU,” the Foreign Ministry added.
