• A court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Kuban resident Pyotr Belyakov to four years in prison. He was convicted under the article of justifying terrorism due to comments on social networks about an explosion in the building of the Arkhangelsk FSB Directorate.
• The former head of security of the Yukos company, Alexei Pichugin, was transferred to a Moscow detention center from a colony in the Orenburg region - presumably to testify against Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Pichugin refused to have lawyers; according to journalists, he was forced to do so.
• Khabarovsk artist Maxim Smolnikov (Xadad) had his term in a pre-trial detention center extended until September 11. A preventive measure was chosen for him as part of a case of justifying terrorism due to a post on VKontakte.
• Yuli Boyarshinov, convicted in the Network case, was transferred to a colony in Karelia. In June 2020, Boyarshinov was sentenced to five and a half years in prison under the article on participation in the activities of a terrorist community; in April 2021, the appeal court reduced the sentence by three months.
• Roskomnadzor blocked the MariUver website, dedicated to the Mari and other Finno-Ugric peoples. The reason for blocking was the publication in memory of Professor Albert Razin, who committed self-immolation due to the threat of extinction of the Udmurt language and culture.
• The former head of Navalny's Tomsk headquarters, Ksenia Fadeeva, noticed that she was being followed. A few days ago, unknown people painted the words “RUN” on the car of her colleague, former staff member Andrei Fateev. Both activists are deputies of the Tomsk City Duma.
• The former coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters in Krasnodar, Anastasia Panchenko, left Russia. She said she will continue to engage in activism remotely.
• Security forces in Moscow again detained members of the Pussy Riot art group Alexander Sofeev and Maria Alyokhina, as well as photographer Dmitry Vorontsov. All of them had recently served administrative arrests.
