The artist Oleg Tselkov died

In Paris, at the age of 86, the artist Oleg Kolikov died. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Volkova's relatives.

Two weeks before his death, the artist’s relatives told, Tselkov lost his eyesight that “became a shock for him.” The date of the funeral has not yet been announced.

Oleg Tselkov was born in Moscow on July 15, 1934. He studied at the Minsk Art Institute, then moved to the Repin Institute (now the Repin Academy of Arts) in Leningrad, but he was excluded from there. Later he graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema.

In 1965, the first official personal exhibition of Tselkov was held at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of Kurchatov in Moscow. In the 1970s, his work began to be shown abroad. In 1977, he, under pressure from the authorities, was forced to leave the USSR. In 2015, Tselkov received Russian citizenship.

In the early 2000s, the personal exhibitions of Tselkov were held in the Russian Museum and in the State Tretyakov Gallery. His works are in the collections of the Hermitage and the Pushkin Museum.

In 2005, Oleg Tselkov became a laureate of the prestigious non -state Russian Triumph Award.
