A criminal case was opened at the end of February. In March, it became known that the examination did not find signs of harm that is dangerous for the health of an employee of the Russian Guard, who is undergoing a victim in the case against Gabyshev.

In September 2019, Gabyshev was detained in a night camp near the federal highway on the border with the Irkutsk region. A psychiatric examination, which was initiated by the FSB in Yakutia, found signs of insanity in Gabyshev. His defense believes that the examination was carried out incorrectly.
