A court in Perm for the second time canceled a fine for a participant in a solidarity rally with Khabarovsk

The Industrial District Court of Perm for the second time canceled the fine of Mikhail Efremov, a participant in the action of solidarity with the residents of the Khabarovsk Territory. The Public Verdict Foundation reports this.

The court returned the case to the Commission on Juvenile Affairs (KDN). The first two times, she made a decision with violations: Efremov was not notified of the meeting, the case was considered without his legal representative.

The activist was detained at a rally of solidarity with Khabarovsk residents on July 19, 2020, along with six National Bolsheviks. His case is being considered by the KDN, since he was a minor at the time.

The head of the foundation's legal practice, Elena Pershakova, noted that the court could have dismissed the case because the cases of the rest of those detained at the rally had previously been dismissed. The deadline for prosecution will expire on July 19, 2021. Probably, we are talking about an article about violation of the procedure for holding an action (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

• Since July 11, 2020, in the Khabarovsk Territory and other regions of the country, rallies have been held in support of the arrested ex-governor Sergei Furgal. Until approximately July 18, the Khabarovsk police made almost no attempt to interfere with the protesters, but later law enforcement officers began to detain the protesters. In the overwhelming majority of cases, they were detained after the protests, including on other days, right at home or at work, after which they were taken to police departments and courts, where they were fined or arrested.
