The court ordered “Important Stories” to remove the investigation “Dancer for Rosneft” about the purchase of Pirelli’s share

The Moscow Arbitration Court fully satisfied the claim of the oil company Rosneft, filed against the publication Important Stories and journalist Roman Shleinov because of the material Dancer for Rosneft . This is stated in the case card on the website of the court.

In its lawsuit, Rosneft demanded to delete the investigation of the publication, which claimed that in 2014 they bought a stake in the Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli for the company. Rosneft itself denied this , but, as noted Important Stories , messages about this deal were published on the oil company's website, and Russian news agencies also wrote about this .

During the trial, journalist Roman Shleinov said , representatives of Rosneft "agreed to the point that Pirelli's information about the sale of shares is untrue and contradictory." “According to them, the Pirelli documents do not mean anything, the Pirelli company does not understand anything in Russian laws. And the information of state news agencies does not correspond to reality,” Shleynov said after the meeting.

The court ordered Important Stories to remove the controversial phrases and publish a retraction, editorial officials said. The publication will challenge the decision.

• In April, the FSB of Russia conducted searches in the editorial office of Important Stories and in the apartment of the editor-in-chief of the publication Roman Anin in a criminal case on violation of privacy. It was initiated in 2016, the case concerns Anin's material about the yacht of the then wife of the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin. Anin is involved in the case as a witness.
