A participant in trucker protests in Tver had his suspended sentence reduced by six months in the case of an attack on a traffic police inspector

In September 2020, dozens of truckers held a two-day rally in Tver demanding the abolition of the Platon tax system and fines for drivers.

According to investigators, Vedrov, when their convoy was stopped to check documents, “based on hostile relations,” hit a traffic police inspector in the neck. The policeman experienced “physical pain and suffering” from this.

The truck driver did not admit guilt. He said that he did not touch the traffic police officer. Witnesses noted that the conflict was started by the policeman himself: he began shouting at Vedrov after being asked about the reasons for checking his documents.

On September 17, the Proletarsky District Court of Tver sent the truck driver under house arrest, and in February the same court sentenced him to two and a half years of probation.
