RBC: Shoigu obliged to study Putin’s article about Russians and Ukrainians in military-political training classes

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu instructed to study President Vladimir Putin’s article “On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians” during military-political training classes. this RBC reports with reference to sources in the ministry.

“Due to the large number of servicemen in the Russian army and navy who have Ukrainian roots, parents or relatives in Ukraine, the president’s article caused a great positive response and discussion in the military environment,” the publication’s interlocutor noted.

Putin’s article was published on the Kremlin website on July 12. “I am convinced that true sovereignty of Ukraine is possible precisely in partnership with Russia. Our spiritual, human, civilizational ties have been formed over centuries, go back to the same origins, and have been tempered by common trials, achievements and victories,” he wrote.
