"Team 29" announced its dissolution

Association "Team 29" ceases to exist. This is stated in his telegram channel.

According to Novaya Gazeta's notice of the blocking of the Team 29 website, the resource "contains information materials of a foreign or international non-governmental organization, whose activities are recognized as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation." Power structures identify "Team 29" with the organization Společnost Svobody Informace, registered in the Czech Republic, whose activities have been recognized by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office as undesirable. The association denies this connection and intends to challenge it, but so far they cannot ignore the position of the security forces.

“The next step in the attack on us could be criminal prosecution of both Team 29 members and its supporters: everyone who supported us, collaborated with us, participated in humanitarian and media projects. <...> Under these conditions, the continuation of the activities of the "Team 29" creates a direct and clear threat to the security of a large number of people, and we cannot ignore this risk, ”the statement says.

In connection with what is happening, "Team 29" closes all its media projects and deletes the archive. She asked those who have ever reposted her materials to remove them, as the security forces may regard this as participation in the activities of an undesirable organization.

Team 29 reminded that a criminal case had been opened against its head, Ivan Pavlov. The security forces cited the “disclosure” of information on the case of journalist Ivan Safronov as the reason for this: the lawyer handed over to the Vedomosti newspaper a decision to implicate Safronov as a defendant, and then told the media that an anonymous secret witness under a pseudonym had appeared in his case. After that, the Basmanny Court forbade the defense counsel to communicate with witnesses, as well as use communications and the Internet.

In August, "Team 29" was supposed to be seven years old. She specialized in defending those accused under articles of treason, disclosure of state secrets and espionage. Among her clients, in addition to Safronov, are the former top manager of Inter RAO Karina Tsurkan, and the scientist Viktor Kudryavtsev, who died in April. The lawyers of the association also represented the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) in the Moscow City Court, which was first entered by the Ministry of Justice into the register of NGOs acting as foreign agents, and then the Moscow City Court recognized it as an extremist organization.
