Ivan Zhdanov’s father’s stay in pre-trial detention center was extended for another four months

The Naryan-Mar City Court of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug extended the arrest of Yuri Zhdanov, the father of the ex-director of FBK Ivan Zhdanov. The defendant’s lawyer, Vladimir Voronin, announced this on his Twitter.

66-year-old Yuri Zhdanov, according to the court decision, will remain in pre-trial detention until at least November 12. He attended the meeting via video link from the Arkhangelsk prison hospital, where he was placed for health reasons.

“He has been in a pre-trial detention center for almost four months only because he is Ivan’s father. Ivan Zhdanov noted that a year ago an inspection in this case did not reveal any violations, and the head of the village, by whose order the apartment was allocated, did not become involved in a criminal case.
