Lawyers for the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the Louvre in Paris filed claims against the porn site Pornhub. This was reported by The Daily Beast and The Telegraph , citing museums.
Their dissatisfaction was caused by a new Pornhub project called "Classic Nudes". It is an online guide to nude paintings found in six of the world's most famous museums: the Louvre, the Uffizi, the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, the Prado Museum in Madrid, the National Gallery in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. For some works, videos were shot in which porn actors "revive" the picture.
A spokesperson for the Uffizi Gallery told The Telegraph and The Daily Beast that Pornhub was illegally using the Uffizi and that the gallery's lawyers had already filed a formal complaint against the porn site.
If anyone wants to use this image, they must make an official request. If the request is granted, he must pay. None of these procedures were followed.
The Louvre has taken similar action. “Pornhub has already received notice from our lawyers. We expect the works [from the Louvre] to be removed immediately,” a spokesman for the museum told The Daily Beast.
