Kolokoltsev fired the head of the Stavropol department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs after the arrest of the head of the local State Traffic Inspectorate

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev dismissed Sergey Shchetkin, head of the Stavropol Krai Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This was reported to TASS by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.

According to Volk, the decision was made based on the results of a special operation, which was carried out in the Stavropol Territory by the FSB and the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Earlier, on July 20, the Investigative Committee announced the detention of the head of the traffic police department for the Stavropol Territory, Alexei Safonov. According to investigators, he and his accomplices sold fake permits for the transportation of goods and received 19 million rubles for this. Photos from Safonov's cottage appeared in the media and telegram channels.
